Sunshine Coast Carnival July 2025

The first details of the 2025 Sunshine Coast winter carnival is below.

Planning for the 2025 SUNSHINE WINTER CRICKET CARNIVAL is well under way with venues being locked in. (see below) The carnival will run from Monday the 21st of July until Friday the 25th of July with Wednesday being a rest day. (4 games). There will NO “finals” with maximum participation and enjoyment for all to be the goal.


Teams (16 in total including 4 local):

  • Mid North Coast Sharks

  • Essendon Supplements

  • Geelong Seniors x 2 teams

  • ACT Galaxies

  • Hunter Taverners

  • Central Coast Cyclones

  • Coffs Harbour Golden Oldies

  • Victoria Country

  • Port Jackson

  • South Australia Wombats

New England Veterans


Local Teams: All Queensland nominated players or interstate individuals will be placed into teams to create an even competition.


The QVC organisers will have discussions with representatives of each visiting teams prior to the carnival regarding team strength, to hopefully even out the games. Where possible teams will not be drawn against another team from their own State.


Games:

Teams and may comprise of any O60, O70 Veteran cricketers plus a maximum of 2 O50s if required.

The games will be 45 overs games, at least 12 players per team with recycling of retired batsmen (35 balls) and a maximum of 6 overs per bowler. Minor variations to rules can be negotiated by Captains prior to each game to suit teams and umpire is to be consulted.


Results and statistics will NOT be officially recorded but the draw will be published on PlayHQ as soon as it is ready. All games will be played on turf if conditions allow.


Venues:

  • Maroochydore CC – John Blank Oval, Kerry Emery Oval, Kev Hackney Oval, Ron McMullen Oval 5 minutes to Alexandra Headland/Mooloolaba. Canteen/food and bar available.

  • Tewantin/Noosa CC – Read Park and Dale Officer Oval Approximately 35 minutes from Alexandra Headland. Basic canteen and bar at Read Park clubhouse only. (3 minutes from Dale Officer Oval)

  • Yandina CC – Thoroughgood and Thompson Ovals. Approximately 25 minutes from Alexandra Headland. Canteen and bar available at clubhouse.


Social Function: There will NOT be an organised social function. Teams are encouraged to arrange their own evening outings in and around the Sunshine Coast.
