Over 60s Division 2 Champions

It was an historic day at Pertaringa Oval on Sunday where the first ever Over 60s Division 2 Grand Final was held.

Congratulations to Kensington Devils who were victors over Woodville South.

It is the first piece of silverware won by The Devils and it was the first time in a SAVCA competition for Woodville South, so very well done by both teams.

The Devils set a huge task by scoring 237 runs for four wickets, with Garry Lodge (39), Mark Shirley (36), Dennis Umpherston (37) and D Costoulos (35) attaining retirement scores. Greg Ward with 2/35 was the pick of the bowlers.

Woodville South chased well with Haydn Johns (40), Garth Newton (38) and Tony Luter (35) retiring before running out of overs with the score at 4/181. Mark Shirley took two wickets for 32 runs.

Devil, Garry Lodge was Player of the Match and Michael Stanley and Tim Tonkin were the umpires.

The game was played in an excellent spirit, so congratulations to all involved.
